Clash Magazine Analysis!
There is no main genre type of Clash magazine, they cover a wide range of music and an example of this is on the front cover who is JAY-Z who is a hip-hop, rap singer and on the latest front cover there is a new up and coming artist who is an electric style artist. The target audience of this magazine is anyone who is interested in music as there is no set genre, it particularly depends on who is included in the magazine, this will be a factor so the potential audience as they will only buy something if they personally, will find it interesting. I also feel that Clash magazine has an appeal to both the male and female genders, this is because the appeal really depends on the artist that will be included in the magazine. The magazine is a monthly magazine and has been around since 2004. It costs around £3.80.
The design of this magazine cover is simple and effective, this is because it is just an image of an artist and he is staring at the camera so it looks like he is addressing the audience directly and this will draw the audience in as it will make them feel like they are being addressed by him. The name of the artist and the reason he is on the front cover is at the bottom and they are both aligned with the image of the artist.

Kerrang!! Analysis!!
The title of the magazine which is as you can see is KERRANG!, It is also a weekly magazine and it will put you back a hefty £2.20. When i look at title of the magazine i think that the type of music talked about inside the magazine will be all edgy, the letters have an edgy broken feel, it sort of reminds me like broken or cracked glass. The magazine had free posters and competitions on the front cover to pull readers in, this mades them want to buy the magazine.
The Cover
The main image on the front cover looks as though it is telling the potential readers that THEY want them to read the magazine and to read their story inside. It is also to advertise the magazine, this is because if a potential reader sees the front cover and they are on it and they like them, then they may buy the magazine to read about them. The main image is the main focal point of the magazine and this is one of the main selling points, the main writing on the magazine cover is the main coverline, this is because it adds to the picture because without words the picture means nothing and without the words, so for it to be appealing to the audience they both have to have a good relationship and compliment each other well. The colours on the frotn cover tell you that it is or can be for both genders this is because there is a lot of blue on it and also there is a lot of pink on it, these are both the stereotypical colours for both the male and the female sex respecitvely. All of the fonts on the front of the magazine are different all over it, by this i mean that the title font is different to the main coverstory which in turn is also different from the other coverstory fonts. As i explained earlier i said that the masthead font looks like broken glass, i also think that the main coverstory font looks like chipped paint, this tells me that the story is going to be an interesting one and that it shouldn't be missed. From the front cover you get the immediate assumption that you will either really like this magazine or really not like it, this is because the fonts and the images and the stories advertised will only appeal to a certain type of musical prefferance, i also get the assumption that it is going to be a rock magazine, i get this idea from the main image and the story types inside. The language on the front cover is used to specifically target the intended market audience, and example of this is 'Bomb Threat Drama' and this is an example of the heavy words that they use throughout the magazine cover.

School Magazine Contents Page!
My contents page is consisted of stories and images inside, the images are all relevant to the stories inside and the stories re actually next to the image so this adds to the effectivness of the stories. There is also a breaking news section at the bottom of the contents page so it attracts peoples attention to the main story inside the magazine. I made the page numbers a different colour so it stands out more and is easier to read and remember. My front cover goes well with my contents page as all of the colours match on both of them.
